Free Money and the Collapse of Civilization

This is occurring in the United States:

People can aspire to bigger, better things, as they should, but without a foundation, any higher aspiration on the pyramid falls apart, and this is what's happening to civilization.  

Those who do the dirty work no one wants to do in order to make civilization function, the ones living paycheck to paycheck doing all this menial labor - they are the foundation of the pyramid.  They are the ones who produce and distribute all the food, who stock the grocery store shelves, etc.  They are the essential workers, and they no longer have motivation to maintain the foundation of the pyramid, because they are continually receiving free money from the government.

This wouldn't be a problem if civilization had technology that required virtually no menial labor, such as replicators like on Star Trek, but obviously civilization doesn't possess such technology yet, so matters will keep getting worse and worse if more free money keeps being distributed, causing greater and greater shortages of menial labor workers.  In many cases people are paid more money to be unemployed compared with working at a job.

As more and more strain is placed on essential workers, having to do more and more work in shorter and shorter periods of time because of shortages of staff despite massive job availability, this could lead to a complete collapse of civilization.  It becomes a viscous cycle, where more and more people quit their jobs because their jobs have become too stressful, which creates even greater stress on all the other employees who haven't yet run for cover.  

Removing the rule that employees have to wear masks all day at their jobs may help provide incentive for more people to go back to work.  Covid restrictions and Covid fear propaganda are possible additional reasons why there is such a huge shortage of essential workers.
