Never Neglect the Foundation 

Diet is not an end-all, but it is a major part of the foundation.  If one's diet is unhealthy, all other areas of one's life will be unhealthy.  

I briefly mentioned this in the past, and feel that I didn't do this justice:

Tyramine-rich foods like aged cheddar cause me major issues.  Mozzarella cheese, however, is very low in tyramine.  Mozzarella is only aged for 2 weeks or less, and has a fraction of a fraction of the amount tyramine compared with sharp cheddar.  I'm currently giving mozzarella a try.  I don't know yet if it will work well or not.  

Some people have low levels of the enzyme that breaks down tyramine.  So, they can handle low amounts of tyramine, but not high amounts.  These people will have a release of too much stored monoamines (dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin) when eating high tyramine foods.  This can have an amphetamine-like effect; the spike in norepinephrine can result in a hypertensive crisis.

There are many other lists that are similar.  Not all lists are 100% the same.  If one feels guided, one could experiment and see what is tolerable and not tolerable.  (Pickles surprised me, which are a substantial source of tyramine.  Back when I ate pickles every day, I really struggled.)

Maybe it's best to avoid protein powders.  Depends on what it is though.   

Moving Forward

Am feeling guided to do the best I can in life, and not be angry.  Instead of condemning what should not be, if one can, why not push forward?  There are many ways to make personal progress.  Some may believe this means little to nothing, but I don't feel that way.
